Our wraparound care at Barnby Road Academy offers flexible, reliable childcare in a safe and caring environment, helping to support the needs of busy families.
Breakfast Club
To help families start the day smoothly, Barnby Road Academy offers a Breakfast Club, available from 7:30am each morning. This service must be booked in advance via the school office.
Children can be signed in with our friendly Breakfast Club Team in the small hall, accessible via the front playground door. They will be cared for by our dedicated team of Teaching Assistants and support staff.
If your child would like breakfast, please ensure they arrive by 8:10am. We offer toast, a variety of cereals and occasionally, pastries. Children should bring their own water bottles for drinks.
A range of play and engaging activities are available for children to enjoy before the school day begins.
Reception, Year 1 & Year 2 children are escorted to their classrooms in time for their 8:45am start. Key Stage 2 children (Years 3–6) make their own way to class for their 8:30am start.
The cost is £3.50 per session for the first child, and £2.50 for additional siblings. The charge will be added to your child’s ParentPay account on the day and should be paid via ParentPay. Children registered for Free School Meals are not required to pay.

Afterschool Club
Barnby Road has a supervised afterschool club which is managed by the school, called 'Lakeside'. Our Afterschool Club operates every day during term time, from the end of the school day until 6:00 PM, and is held in the Small Hall. Children can be collected any time up to 6:00 PM from the door accessed via the front playground.
During the session, children are offered a healthy tea/snack, which may include items such as wraps, fruit, breadsticks, and more. A range of fun activities are provided, as well as a designated homework area.
Parents must complete an Afterschool Club Agreement, available from the school office or copy can be found below. This ensures that staff have up-to-date contact details, medical information, and allergy requirements for each child.
Nursery, Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 children are collected directly from their classrooms by Afterschool Club staff. Key Stage 2 children (Years 3–6) are expected to make their own way to the club after school.
Bookings should be made via the school office, and we strongly encourage parents to book in advance. You can book regular days each week or on an ad hoc basis. Please note: Due to high demand, same-day bookings are not guaranteed and will only be considered based on availability.
The cost is £7.00 per session, per child. Charges are added to your ParentPay account the day after your child attends.

Tax Free Childcare Schemes
We are pleased to accept payments through Tax-Free Childcare, the Childcare Voucher Scheme, Sodexo Childcare Vouchers, and EdenRed. These can be used to pay for both Breakfast Club and Afterschool Club.
Our Ofsted registration number is 136274, which you may need when setting up your payments.
Once a payment is made and received in our bank account, we will transfer the amount as a credit to your ParentPay account.
If you would like the payment split between services (e.g., part for Breakfast Club and part for Afterschool Club), please email the school office with your request, and we will allocate the payment accordingly.
